Craig Kielburger is an activist who detested child labor starting at the age of 12. Craig found out that Iqbal Masih, a 12 year old like himself was murdered for protesting to stop child labor, he was shocked that lots of children in poorer countries work in factories to earn little money. He made a website called 'Free The Children' with his school friends. When he grew up into an adult, he began arranging popular events that helped children working in factories. Ind the end, he saved lots of children from child labor.

My thoughts about the 12-year old boy who protested to ban child labour

Iqbal Masih is a 12-year old boy who tried to stop child labour. He was murdered on Tuesday on the 18th of April. All he was trying to do was stop the owners of carpet-weaving factories from hiring children. His protests lead dozens of factories in Pakistan to close. His family had borrowed money from the owner at severe interest rates, he was still 13,000 rupees ($189.35) in debt. When I heard that Iqbal worked in a carpet weaving factory and was earning 1 rupee per day, I was shocked that anybody could allow a young boy to work as a slave to weave carpets everyday in a small, cramped, dirty room with lots of other children. I never knew that people were so mean to kids. I wish I could help them by visiting them and give them money and support them. Iqbal was poor to die because he tried to ban child labour.
